I made an appointment for my oil change. Previously, I had been told that the diesel exhaust fluid level would be checked and topped off at each visit. This was not the case. The mechanic/tech annotated that the DES was "OK". I asked the front desk staff to please check the level and top it off. It took one and a half jugs (about 4 gallons) to top it off. I noticed that the fuel filter only had 23% life left, and I was concerned about why that was not annotated on my safety checklist? I was then told if I wanted to change it out, it would take an additional hour and a charge of $159.00 + tax. I didn't have the time to wait, so I will have to get this done at the next visit. This is the first time I did not feel that the tech took the necessary time to check everything and did not communicate what I needed to watch in the next few weeks or months. Had I received a phone call during the service, I would have had the DES topped off and the fuel filter replaced before picking up my 3500 GMC Denali Sierra truck. I live in Gig Harbor, and it is not convenient for me to drive all of the way out to Puyallup for service, so I prefer to get everything taken care of all at once and not piecemeal. Sherrill F.
