Silverado EV isn’t just a truck. It’s a category-defying, boundary-breaking game changer. This innovative EV combines cutting-edge tech with over a century of truck-building know-how to create a vehicle that more than delivers on its legendary name.
Overview The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV looks like a more traditional take on an electric pickup truck, with the electrified drivetrain. An available midgate style will allow customers to fold across the wall between the truck bed and the cab for added storage space. A sizable battery will provide around 400 miles of range per charge and DC fast-charging technology can juice a battery with 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Twin electric motors supply standard all-wheel drive and up to 664-horsepower, and the Silverado EV will be able to tow as much as 10,000 pounds and hauling up to 1300 lbs of payload. At launch, the Silverado EV is going to be offered in a Work Truck (WT) package along with off-road Trail Boss and jam-packed RST trims, with mid-range trims added later to round out the lineup. Engine, Transmission, and Performance the Silverado EV will be driven by two electric motors. The set up will provide powerful acceleration performance and, from the top-spec RST, Chevy boasts a horsepower rating of at least 664 hp, with the base WT trim making 510 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard as are a four-wheel steering system. Buyers of the RST version will find that their pickup truck comes with a adaptive air suspension, a set of massive, 24-inch wheels is optionally available. Towing and Payload Capacity At launch, the Silverado EV's highest towing capability is going to be 10,000 lbs for the RST version and 8000 lbs for the} Work Truck. Chevrolet has said that a model with a 20,000-lb towing capability will eventually be a part of the Silverado EV selection. Range, Charging, and Battery Life the Silverado EV will utilize General Motors’ Ultium battery technology, which may be scaled up to create a battery pack as large as 200-kWh.The Ultium battery pack technology will give the Silverado EV a traveling range up to 400 miles per charge. DC fast recharging capability is going to be standard, and 100 miles of range can be put into the battery within just ten minutes at any public DC recharging station.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo the Silverado EV includes a fixed glass roof, natural leather upholstery, and about the same passenger space as a standard Silverado crew cab pickup truck. Rather than a console-mounted shifter, the Silverado EV will have a column-mounted stalk, which results in room for a massive storing container between the dashboard and midsection armrest. Infotainment and Connectivity All Silverado EV models will come with a mostly electronic dashboard, with both an 11 " infotainment touchscreen as well as an 8 " digital gauge cluster screen coming as standard. Upgrading to the top-level RST unlocks a much larger sized 17" infotainment display screen as well as an 11inch gauge display. Both systems are reconfigurable for the driver's preferences with climate controls getting located as simple analogue knobs mounted inside a panel on the lower portion of the dashboard for easy accessibility.
