Confirmed Service Customer
I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I called a couple of days prior to the service dept. to check on the prices for both services. $80.00 for the oil change and $10.00 for the tire rotation. So, $90.00 and some change for taxes/fees (which I was not told the amounts). My vehicle was ready - I go to pay and the staff member says $167.13. I tell the staff member, "I thought it was going to be $90.00 and some change." He says the air filter was $47.00. "What!" "How?" I was NOT asked if I wanted to replace the air filter or not, it was installed and I was charged for it. I guess I could have made a stink in the lobby and said that I was not going to pay for something I didn't ask for. I was upset and in shock and I begrudgingly paid for the $167.13 service when I budgeted for a little over $90.00. After I got in my vehicle, I did an internet search for my vehicle for an air filter. They cost around $20.00 and I can replace it myself very easily. Firstly, I'd like to say that I've been going to Puyallup Chevrolet for 5+ years now. Bought my last two vehicles there. When I purchased the last vehicle, I said "I really like the lifetime oil changes." Well, did not know I would not be getting the oil changes if I didn't pay for the 50,000 mile service, to the tune of $600.00. Well, I don't have $600.00 dollars laying around. So, I will just pay for a few oil changes and hopefully I can save enough to get the 50,000 mile service eventually. I drive from Auburn for this service as I have trust in this dealership and that they will treat me well. This is out of the way for me as there certainly are closer service shops to me but I don't know them or trust them like I do Puyallup Chevrolet. I am extremely disappointed and it's quite doubtful I will be returning to this dealership.
